The Kitchen and Bath Industry (KBIS) show is always a big ole’ shining star in the Designhounds calendar and this year, it did not disappoint. We are always so excited to bring the Designhounds community together. What a gorgeous little world we have created here, am I right? In Vegas, we stepped out, loud and proud- starting with KBIS Uncorked.
The annual Uncorked event was the official kick-off to KBIS 2024, sponsored by Signature Kitchen Suite (SKS). Produced and promoted by Designhounds Events, we saw a whopping 180+ design influencers and design VIPs who came to celebrate the launch of KBIS 2024. Cozy in the SKS space, we huddled in for a conversation on human-centric design with some big industry players.
Players of the Panel:
The participants of the panel included moderator Veronika Miller (you know her…right?), KBIS show director Jason McGraw, TV personality and consumer technology expert Carley Knobloch, SKS Executive Chef Nick Ritchie, and our very own Designhound, Lisa Mende, Principal of Lisa Mende Design.
Uncorked continued the Changemaker Conference theme: #DaretoDesign. We touched on the importance of emotion and human-driven design approach in today’s rapidly increasing technological world.
A heart-to-heart:
Lisa Mende presented an original design at Uncorked. She was voted winner of the design challenge at the Designhounds Changemaker Conference. Lisa shared her story of the loss of her son, and how it influenced the stunning and tranquil sketch of a “grief room” retreat space.
Chef Nick mentioned his “why,” referencing his daughters cooking in kitchen with him. Carley Knobloch opened up about the love of her family being intimately connected to the kitchen. As spoken by our fearless leader, Veronika:
“Community engagement and human connection between design industry professionals is the core focus of everything we do. It was important to me to highlight the passion that drives industry leaders such as SKS to do what they do so well, year in year out.”
Uncorked is always a great way to kick off KBIS, and we were excited to coordinate this event. Thank you to our partner in crime, SKS, for hosting us. Until next time!
