Global Connect Member ELEKTRA is a German-made lighting company that is eager to expand in the North American market. ELEKTRA creates lighting systems and industrial solutions with a vision. Founded in 1979 as the Ehlebracht Group, the founder understood the value of combining plastic housings with lighting elements. The goal was to create light sources that fit seamlessly into kitchen furniture components. Today, ELEKTRA stands by that goal.

ELEKTRA prioritizes innovation and adapting to changing standards. As they are entering the North American market, they are adapting their designs to adhere to requirements in North America. As a result, ELEKTRA products are UL-approved and compatible with the North American market.
The ELEKTRA product portfolio comprises linear LED lights, strips and connector systems, lighting technology, and smart light systems. Therefore, they pride themselves in their customized approach to in-cabinet lighting solutions.
CEO Boris Niessing says ELEKTRA is unique because its products are adjustable. They can reposition shelves “without rewiring, by moving them to the desired level for a truly customized look. We believe this capability is ideal for the North American market.”
ELEKTRA has in-house quality control and testing labs and maintains eco-friendly sourcing and manufacturing practices. Additionally, it runs its own labor, installation training, and apprenticeship programs. ELEKTRA is a member of AMK, the German Association of the Modern Kitchen — a Global Connect Strategic Alliance partner. Also, they are part of the German Electronic Association (ZVEI), and the German Association of Shop Fitters (DLV). ELEKTRA is constantly improving and innovating, setting the pace for European kitchen excellence. As a result, the company recently received a 2023 Interzum Award for its high-quality products.
