Our third Perspectives conversation explores the intersection of design creativity, technical knowledge, sourcing, and the designer–manufacturer relationship.

We’ll examine how designers approach material selection, product performance, customization, and the growing demand for distinctive solutions. We’ll also discuss the practical challenges of specifying across international markets, from availability and lead times to installation requirements and product education.

Can manufacturers become better partners in the creative process? Are designers equipped with the technical knowledge they need? And how might stronger collaboration lead to better design outcomes?

Perspectives is a Designhounds program connecting design professionals across borders through curated conversations, experiences, and meaningful industry relationships. Our UK/US exchange began in London in October 2026, continues through a series of virtual discussions, and culminates with an in-person gathering at High Point Market in April 2027.
